2+2 and 2+2.

Q: Impulsive or spontaneous?

A: Er...both. Write with you ears.
I'd add improvisation too actually.
When I get the idea for a story I usually write quickly. Catch the moment.
Most short story writers I know, and like, tell me they do the same.
Spontaneity with no regrets?
I wish!

A little bit of what you fancy...

"Experiment is sometimes viewed as being at odds with good storytelling.

Whereas..the novel was always about experimenting to the purpose of good storytelling.' [Simon Prosser, Hamish Hamilton]

Q: Are we looking for messages?
A: No. I'd probably settle for witty observations.

Nobody's Busy Fool [ v.1 ]
Steve Coel

Briefly?
O.K.

So...learned skills on my first
3-5 in nasty Clink Hotel
up North.
Was probably busiest
when stoneheads
took over operations
down south.
Word got round.
Useful skills mine.
Well; used to be.
Could always,
and I mean always,
keep my mouth shut
and get job done.
And when I's outside?
I got protected.
Which was useful.
And next time
I got banged up
I could soon pick up
where I left off.
Best message man and tillman
there was.
Period.
Those days
long over now though.

That enough for you?
