down the Old Kent.

litter this early
morning park pavementing
cardboard homes hiding
in scraggy bushes.
And shelters, carefully
built on benches
are being pulled
down for the
day. Plastic sheets
hang on trees
drying as the
mud splattered newly
drunk sleep in
the field before
breakfast.
