day time hide aways
in back spaces
unseen from roads
and rear view mirrors,
between rubble and broken glass,
shaking hands are shaken.

tracksuits are worn
to hide shape, weapons, sex.
no names here.
trade is is always invisible,
unknown.

Lighter than I look

Lighter than I look

Some days
I trawl through notebooks
and journals,
sketchbooks,
jottings
and essay ideas.
They're often summaries
or outlines
of a much larger idea
or possible project.
Attitudes emerge.
Important, for the time,
thoughts on a huge variety
of subjects and issues.
It is this fabric
that provides the drive
for lots of my writing
and picture making.
Submitting yourself
to the micro / flash fiction form
demands a lot of patience.
If done properly.
Stream of consciousness work,
like early Kerouac,
demands great intelligence.
But does it demand
a similar patience?

Hello - microflashfiction, experiments, illustrations, notes...

Documentary Fiction Photography (1980)
Steve Coel

OK...
so it occurred to me that my main 4 story forms: MicroFlashFiction, Documentary Fiction Photography, Experimental Narrative and Abstract Art cross each other.
Back in 1985 I started describing 'my' art as Abstract De-structuralismAll of it.
The MicroFlashFiction writing; my Documentary Fiction Photography; image making; posters and prints.
If asked today I'd probably still describe myself as an Abstract Destructuralist.
I'm never asked.
Enjoy.
